🌞 A series of procedures to handle, what should be noted?
Average grades can still lead to a brave journey of exchange. This is my experience and insights to share.
Got the recommendation qualification, and then?
You need to check in, and once successful, you will receive the following email from the International Office:

✏️ Key Points
- Wait for notification, keep an eye on your inbox
- Make an appointment for in-person consultation
- Write a good email
And then there’s nothing more, after completing the check-in, you can take a breather for a while. If you want to prepare anything in advance, please visit Frequently Asked Questions After Selection to check it out XD
Before the announcement and receiving the school’s notification, you can…
You will receive an email from the person in charge, and the content is roughly as follows:

While waiting for the school’s nomination, I first looked at the application information for international students at the University of Hawaii. There are a few documents that can be prepared in advance:
- Complete transcript (all years)
- Decide how to present financial proof; information should be available on the exchange school’s official website
Let’s start applying!
As soon as you receive the email again, you can take action 🎉

The email contains step-by-step instructions similar to the ones below. Complete them one by one, and it will kindly include the deadlines for each submission, so be sure to complete them on time!
Read Application Information
Familiarize yourself with the process and required documents
Document Preparation
Transcripts, language proficiency, etc.
Email NTU Study Abroad
Official documents must be emailed to the designated mailbox
Apply to the Exchange School
Complete the online application according to the partner school's regulations
Usually, official documents, such as transcripts and English proficiency test scores, may need to be submitted through the school.
Other materials can be uploaded via the dropbox link sent by the school. This part varies by school, so pay attention to it~
Excerpt from the email content:
To complete the exchange student application, please return the following documents via email by September 15, 114 (Taiwan time). Those who do not return them cannot complete the exchange student application:
Official Transcript of Academic Record (in English, must include complete grades for the second semester of the 113 academic year, and please be sure to attach both sides. If you are a transfer student, please also attach the English version of the transcript from the previous school, both sides; if you are a graduate student, you must also submit the undergraduate transcript)
Proof of Language Proficiency (please submit a PDF transcript or a scanned copy of the official transcript; screenshots of online grade inquiry pages are not accepted)
Return email information, none can be missing, to ensure your rights:

cc: your contact person
I have been in Germany since July, and I am finally about to go home~ So I applied for an electronic transcript. The school’s processing is quite fast, but it costs much more than printing a paper copy, about 200 TWD per copy.

MIX Application
📩 The contact person’s email will provide the link to fill out -
UH Mānoa Application
⚠️ The contact person’s email will also provide the link, be sure not to pay!
(The form will have a question like this: “Do you think you should receive a waiver for the application fee?” 👉 Choose Yes, and just fill in any reason, then you can submit without paying… so ridiculous) -
Transcript(s)
All-year transcripts (in English) must be submitted through the school -
Proof of English language proficiency
English test scores must also be submitted through the school -
Copy of your passport’s biographical information page
Passport personal information page -
MIX Financial Certification Form
Financial proof -
MIX Participation, Assumption of Risk, Consent, Waiver, Release and Indemnity Agreement for Incoming Students
Similar to a disclaimer
After completing the MIX and UH Manoa application forms, the University of Hawaii will send a link to submit other documents, and once all materials are submitted, you are mostly done.
As a general applicant without U.S. citizenship, you need to provide additional financial proof.
However, it’s not as troublesome as imagined, and you don’t necessarily have to use the bank form provided by the school. Just prove that you have the funds to cover expenses in the U.S. is enough~
Then just wait for good news~
Surprisingly, I received the letter confirming my status as a Rainbow Warrior around early September!
Congratulations to me for becoming a new Rainbow Warrior 🌈

Next Step
In the next article, I will share the application process for the U.S. visa in detail, including filling out the DS-160, paying the SEVIS fee, scheduling the interview, and important notes.
