Recently, I’ve seen many sharing articles summarizing experiences with various GPT models. I felt inspired to share my thoughts here as well~
The last time I heard about the differences between GPT models was during an iOS development workshop, where the instructor mentioned that the difference between 4o and o3 lies in the “thinking”.
- Using 4-o means it will directly generate an answer
- Conversely, o-4 indicates it will think, and you can see its thought process
As someone who has subscribed to GPT for a while, I’ve come to realize how little I actually understand about AI. So, I took the time to study it and tried various applications.
I strive to utilize artificial intelligence to make life more organized and convenient, so writing an article like this from start to finish is truly rare ✨
Daily Tasks & Models Used
Tasks I commonly encounter (sometimes I also call it a to-do list), for example:
- Handwritten assignments for school
- Writing programs for analysis and simulation tasks
- Creating teaching materials
- Preparing lesson content
- Managing social media
- Various applications
Based on the tasks, I adjust the models I use:
- Handwritten assignments: Use 4o to generate answers, adjusting according to the professor’s requirements
- Programming assignments: Use o4-mini-high (because it was introduced as being good at coding)
- Creating teaching materials: Feed my own learning sheets and handouts to 4o and ask for suggestions
- Lesson preparation:
- The internet is still filled with a lot of false information, so lesson content is primarily based on textbooks
- Occasionally add my own hand-drawn illustrations
- The most used part is generating image materials
- Managing social media: Use 4o to ask how to manage it, how to generate income, or some out-of-the-box questions
Usage Experience
Perhaps because I subscribe to GPT Plus and not GPT Pro, the models available to me are not very comprehensive.
In practice, I feel that the differences between the models are actually not significant (at least for a student).
In this age of information overload, I believe that learning to discern right from wrong or factual judgments is a very important skill.
My small expectation for myself is—don’t rely too much on AI.
